Is there any way to tell the difference between this variant and the black without opening it?I have a local store that has a copy and wondering which one it is.
Thanks!..I know it's still up at the store so I'm gonna check it out tomorrow...Cheers!
Look at the backside of the record. The hole in the middle will be Green if it's this variant, otherwise just normal black wax.
Another company cheaping out on not having download codes. $11.00 for a single song and no way to listen to it in a car or on the go. (great song and vinyl, though)
My copy is flawless, clean and has no issues. Glad, becouse the song is awesome. But quality control over new vinyl is ridiculously low. Had two brand new vinyls returned in a month, that never happened to me.
Oh wow. I opened the sealed vinyl and it has two dirty fingerprints and some other marks on the music side. I wonder if I can wash them away. The hole is also bad produced.
My hole had a little junk in it too, but the vinyl was pristine
Sorry, that is a shame! My copy had no issues.
I got SUPER lucky and snagged the only copy my local record store had. This is the most beautiful record I own at the moment. I'm in love.
Looks like there will be another translucent green variant soon according to a couple online shops.
seasons of mist and electric fetus online shops both listed a green (seasons listed it as a translucent green) version in their online shops as a preorder. but they are no longer showing up for me now.
Please elaborate, can you share any links to these websites?
This pressing looks and sounds fantastic. Easily one of the coolest pressings I own. Was lucky enough to grab it at my local shop a day after it was released.
Impala Frozen
They only sold 50 copies of this at their Detroit store today. Were gone a few minutes after the store opened.
Little Devil
Yeah right after i bought the last copy, everyone cleared out within minutes.
Someone at the shop told me there were only 50 for sale today. But they could have been mistaken.
There had to be more then 50 copies available, but they were sold out by 10:15.
don't blame TMR blame the flippers , they are the sharks
Third Man wins. Idiots who buy records for their eye-candy value lose. It will always be like this, so long as record collectors stay dumb, and it can only get worse.
Wait a 6 months, a year or two. I bet then you’ll be able to get one at a reasonable price because flippers will be stuck with them. There’s a 1,000 pressed. Price will come down.
You can blame TMR for suuure lol They forced indie record stores to buy ten standard blk presses in order to buy 1 aqua lol lol That alone drove cost up... I can't blame record stores for trying to make that profit back, that was a real lame move on the labels part....as for flipper freaking assholes but also I just scooped the standard blk at my local shop and lemme tell you its nice...real nice..Maybe if we didnt all lose our shit and pay insane amounts of money for these releases theyd figure no money in it and maybe maybe things would be chill lol lol.....
Lol. If TMR just pressed more, there would be nothing to flip. But I guess then it just wouldn't be as C-C-C-COLLECTABULL!!!
Yet another release intended to make record flippers profit and squeeze the last penny out of us who really want a copy of this record... What a disgrace...
hahaha people who don't see what's wrong with TMR's practices are part of the problem. They did equally crappy things with The Sciences release. It benefits flippers and not the fans of the actual music.
It's called marketing to finance the record plant which sure is quite money intensive.I remeber the 80s and the mailorder clubs. No one complained about it, we were fans and as members in a club, we had privileges and got special pressings etc.Cannot share your view, as flippers existed back then already!
I was at Muddy Roots and heard assholes in line in front of me talking about buying them up. It's really unfortunate but Third Man wouldn't sell more than 1 copy to each person and the sold a good 300 of them over the weekend so... There is always the black etched copy. I'm sure it sounds just as good.
Who cares if a store had to order 10 copies to get the LIMITED edition. If they can’t sell 10 copies of a Sleep EP they probably shouldn’t be ordering any in the 1st place. It’s not like this is some band no one has ever heard of. I stood out in the rain for 45 minutes at TMR Cass Corridor this morning and didn’t get it, but them the breaks.
or you could stop being crazy and just buy the black vinyl for like $10. the only thing that feeds flippers is the completely irrational behaviour of ‘collectors’.
It wouldn’t be limited then would it ? TMR has revived record collecting for everyone can’t blame third man records for being awesome ????
To be fair the black vinyl has a retail price of $9.99. The music is there to be had a very reasonable price.
